Moab is a geologist's paradise. The deep canyons and low annual percipitation means the many layers of geological deposits are exposed and ready for study.
The Canyonlands Natural History Association is a non profit organization dedicated to educating visitors on the natural history of the area. The web site for CNHA offers a bookstore and other information on the geology of the region.
